Why Are Medications Not Included?
Ovarian stimulation medications (injections) are highly individualized. A 30-year-old patient with a high AMH level will require a entirely different dosage and protocol than a 42-year-old patient with diminished ovarian reserve. Including a flat rate for medications would mean overcharging some patients. You will only pay the pharmacy for the exact biological dosages your body requires.
Why Might Your Final Cost Vary?
While the base cycle has a set fee, the final cost of an infertility journey is inherently variable because each patient is biologically unique. Here are the primary reasons a treatment plan might require additional investment:
1. Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT-A)
For patients with advanced maternal age, recurrent miscarriages, or previous failed IVF cycles, Dr. Aksoy may strongly recommend genetic testing of the embryos before transfer. This involves a biopsy and genetic laboratory analysis, which is billed separately per embryo.
2. Severe Male Infertility (TESE/Micro-TESE)
If no sperm is found in the semen (Azoospermia), a surgical procedure called Micro-TESE is required to extract sperm directly from the testicular tissue under general anesthesia. This surgical intervention carries its own distinct cost.
3. Embryo Vitrification (Freezing)
If your cycle yields multiple high-quality embryos, or if maintaining a “freeze-all” strategy is medically necessary (for example, to prevent Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome or to await PGT results), the freezing and annual storage of these embryos incurs an additional laboratory fee.
