Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What services does Draksoy IVF Center offer?

We provide a comprehensive range of IVF services including IVF, ICSI, Egg Freezing, PGT-A, and more.

How long does the IVF treatment process take?

From the first day of stimulation medications until the pregnancy test, the process typically takes about 3 weeks to 30 days.

What is the age limit for IVF treatment?

While IVF can be performed up to age 44 or 45, the success rate decreases after age 40. We evaluate each patient individually based on their ovarian reserve.

Is hospitalization required during the treatment?

No, the procedures such as egg collection and embryo transfer are performed on an outpatient basis. You can usually return to your hotel or home on the same day.

What is the difference between IVF and ICSI?

In traditional IVF, many sperm are placed around the egg for natural fertilization. In ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection), a single high-quality sperm is directly injected into the egg. We predominantly use ICSI for better fertilization rates.

Can I travel back home immediately after the embryo transfer?

We recommend resting for 1-2 days after the transfer before taking a long-haul flight, although normal daily activities can be resumed almost immediately.

How can I book a consultation?

You can book a free initial online consultation via our website or call us at +90 507 380 28 05.

Are the treatments covered by insurance?

Most treatments are not covered by insurance; please check with your provider. For international coordination, you can reach us at [email protected].

What factors affect a woman's fertility?

The most important factor is age. As a woman ages, the chance of conception decreases. Past infections affecting the ovaries and tubes also negatively impact fertility.

How often should a gynecological exam be performed?

Sexually active women should have annual exams, including a PAP smear for cervical cancer screening.

Do fibroids or blocked tubes affect pregnancy?

Fibroids can affect pregnancy if they compress the inner lining of the uterus. Blocked tubes make natural conception impossible, making IVF necessary.

When should a couple seek treatment?

If the woman is under 37, after one year of trying. If over 37, a consultation is recommended after 6 months.

What are the stages of IVF treatment?

Stimulation of the ovaries, egg collection, fertilization with sperm, and embryo transfer.

How are eggs collected? Is it painful?

Collection is performed via vaginal ultrasound under general or local anesthesia. It is a painless procedure.

Does IVF treatment deplete ovarian reserve?

No, ovarian stimulation for IVF does not accelerate the depletion of a woman's natural egg reserve.

Are all eggs fertilized?

Eggs must be mature and structurally normal to be fertilized. Not every egg is suitable for fertilization, and not every fertilized egg becomes a healthy embryo.

How is embryo transfer performed?

It is a simple procedure. Embryos are placed into the uterus using a thin plastic catheter under ultrasound guidance, without anesthesia.

Is rest necessary after embryo transfer?

Bed rest has not been shown to increase success rates. We recommend returning to daily life while avoiding strenuous physical activity.

Do IVF hormones increase cancer risk?

There is no increased risk of cancer from the hormonal medications used in IVF treatment.

Is there a difference between IVF babies and naturally conceived babies?

There is no difference. IVF babies are perfectly healthy and develop normally, just like any other child.
